Mini Beauty (Sephora, B&BW, Target) Haul + Blog Update

Good morning! I have a small beauty haul to share with you guys today. This is also my first beauty post on the blog!

Pink Chiffon Body Lotion: I actually picked this up for free from Bath & Body Works because they occasionally send coupons in the mail. I adore this scent (and packaging)--it's florally and sweet, but not too overwhelming. It's also the perfect size to put in my bag.
Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes: This is a repurchase for me; I told my mom that I loved these wipes and she bought two more packs for me when they were on sale at Target. These wipes are gentle and they take off my makeup so well. They also have a fresh and calming scent--très refreshing!
Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask: I've been wanting to try Bite Beauty for a while. I've heard fantastic reviews of their products. My lips have been extremely chapped lately (well, they're pretty much always chapped) so when I saw that my sister was getting this, I knew I had to purchase one for myself. If you haven't heard of Bite Beauty, they specialize in making lip products using edible-grade ingredients.
Bite Beauty Luminous Crème Lipstick (Fig): I've swatched the Luminous Crème lipsticks so many times in Sephora but could never bring myself to actually buy one. This time around, I finally decided to bite the bullet. I chose Fig because it's a nude rose color, which will be great for everyday wear.
Elizabeth and James Nirvana White Rollerball: UK beauty gurus (and bloggers) Estèe and Fleur were talking about how lovely this perfume was a while back, and convinced me to give it a whiff. "Pretty" is the perfect word to describe this scent. It's floral and feminine, and it will make a beautiful light perfume for autumn. I bought the rollerball because--let's be real here--I can never finish an entire bottle of perfume.

Let me know if you'd like full reviews on any of these products!

As for my blog, I am currently in the process of switching from Blogger to self-hosting my own Wordpress site. Thank you to Allison and Julie for inspiring me to do so. I'm also not happy with my current theme, so after I switch to Wordpress, I will be tweaking the theme to one that I love. Please bear with me if my blog malfunctions or looks a little crazy for the next month or so.

Thanks for reading, and have a fantastic Tuesday! xo

An August Day in LA

Dress: Hollister Co. (on sale) | Shoes: Birkenstock | Bag: Urban Outfitters (old) | Watch: Michael Kors (via Nordstrom) |  Bracelet: Tiffany & Co.* | Ring: Kate Spade | Nail Polish: Butter London (Trout Pout)

Happy Friday, everyone! Today, I'm sharing the outfit I wore for an entire day out in LA with Josh. For the afternoon, we went to dim sum and to visit a friend and his husky (my dream dog!). We then ended the evening with shopping at The Grove and a lovely candlelit dinner at The Little Door
Dresses make perfect vacation pieces because they're easy yet put-together at the same time. I love the silhouette and versatility of this particular skater dress; you can dress it up or dress it down depending on how you style it. I chose my Birkenstock sandals because we were going to be walking around all day, and my red crossbody to further veer my outfit towards the more casual side.
My favorite part of this outfit, aside from the dress, is the jewelry. I absolutely love that second picture because it captures everything perfectly--I will save the explanation of why those accessories mean so much to me for another day. :)

     Have a wonderful weekend! xo

Yours,
*A beautiful gift to me; I don't want to ruin the integrity of the piece by searching for it and monetizing it--it's priceless to me. Hope you understand. :)

Black on Black--A Casual Hike

Top: lululemon athletica (old) | Bottom: lululemon athletica (similar here) | Shoes: Nike (similar here) | Sunglasses: Juicy Couture (old) | Water Bottle: c/o lululemon athletica (similar here)

On Saturday, Josh and I went on a casual hike in Oakland. After walking and exploring awhile, we finished our hike with a squat variation that I saw on Georgina Poh's Instagram; she posts little snippets of her workouts and exercise advice which are not only inspirational, but also great for freshening up one's workout routine. Thanks to her routine, we were both walking funny on the way back to the car!
Lululemon is one of my favorite--if not my favorite--athletic wear companies. Their products are beautiful, fit and functional. The tank top that I'm wearing is loose and airy--perfect for staying cool--and the back is so flattering. The crops have tight side pockets as well as pockets in the waistband which are wonderfully convenient to hold my phone, credit card case, keys, etc.
I know that these exact items are not available anymore; however, lululemon offers many similar items and other fantastic exercise pieces online/in-store, so definitely go check it out if you're interested!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy hump day! xo

Day Trip to Santa Cruz

Top: Urban Outfitters (old, similar here) | Bandeau: Victoria's Secret (similar here) | Shorts: American Eagle (old, similar here) | Sunglasses: TOMS | Bag: Urban Outfitters (old) | Shoes: Rainbow

A couple weekends ago, Josh and I drove down to Santa Cruz to visit my sister. She took us to a delicious brunch, and then to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. My sister's friend, who works at the Boardwalk, graciously gave us three unlimited rides passes--thank you so much! We had fun going on rides (above is the first roller coaster we went on), snacking, and walking around. We also witnessed a proposal! The caricature artist wrote "SHH" on the side to make sure no one would spoil anything. How sweet! After that, we went to the sushi restaurant my sister works at for dinner, and the staff there was so accommodating.
For my outfit, I wanted to go with something cute and super comfortable, since I knew we were going to be out and about the whole day. I chose a white lace top with a tie-dye bandeau underneath and my favorite flowy shorts with a floral print. I love how loose and breathable this outfit was--perfect for the warm Santa Cruz weather! For my bag, I chose a red crossbody that I thought I didn't like anymore, but it turned out to be the perfect bag.

Thanks, sis, for taking us around! We had a lot of fun!

current wishlist--summer to fall

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7

one. This tote is the perfect back-to-school bag. It's big enough that it fits all that I need it to, and the cool grey tone matches with almost everything. Cuyana also offers monogramming, which is awesome to personalize and differentiate the bag from everybody else's.
two. I've been really into white lace lately (especially dresses), so although this is a crochet, it is exactly on par with what I was looking for. I fell in love with how feminine and flowy it is, and it would also make a wonderful piece to transition from summer to fall (with a scarf or some boots).
three. Since my boyfriend bought me a lululemon yoga mat, I've been delving back into my practice. I've been using a book as makeshift for a yoga block since I haven't gotten around to getting one yet. This one is not too expensive; it's the perfect addition to my black yoga mat.
four. I saw these heels on Urban Outfitters and fell in love with it. I'm a huge fan of the d'Orsay silhouette--it's feminine yet sophisticated. The black suede makes this heel even more sleek and classy.
five. The Wunder Under Crop is one of my all-time favorites from lululemon. I was smitten when I saw this one with the Astro waistband and floral print juxtaposed with the dark blue. The Astro waistband is not only aesthetically beautiful, but it also flatters the waistline (no muffin top!). Love, love, love!
six.  I have a soft spot in my heart for treble clefs and music notes, so this necklace completely stole my heart. I love the symmetry the two treble clefs add to the necklace; it's golden and gorgeous. Kate Spade, you've done it once again.
seven. My sister has a grey pair of these, and they looked so cute and comfortable. It's the perfect casual sandal. I went online and saw that they had a rose gold pair. Want! Rose gold is so in now, and the color itself captures the essence of the summer to fall transition.
